About us / Additional Info

Healthy soil = healthy food and people.
Our Regenerative Farming makes better quality Saffron while preserving Nature.

My name is George Tonchev and I am producer of Organically grown and pure SAFFRON from Bulgaria.

We run with love of Crocus flower a small family organic saffron farm with my wife Olga in the village of Tazha in Central Bulgaria. Our field is located in the middle of the Rose Valley, famous for its unique climate conditions and protected from the harsh Northern cold weather by the Balkan Mountain. This unique location and favorable climate, together with the nutrient rich soil and the way it is handled, translates into the high-quality yield of our Saffron produce.

Our farming operation

We practice Regenerative Organic farming methods, enriching the soil’s nutrient availability by minimal physical disturbance – we advanced to 100% No-Tillage of the soil. We annually seed multispecies cover crops for soil carbon sequestration and have livestock integration with controlled cows and goats, grazing in the spring – summer months, to naturally fertilize our land and suppress weeds. We also use zero artificial fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and fungicides on our field.
